A Brief Professional Biography of
Jeffrey H. Chester, DO

Dr. Jeffrey H. Chester, a Physiatrist, or doctor of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialty,
is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, as well as member of both the
American Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Association.  After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts Degree
with a concentration in Biology from Brandeis University in 1992, Dr. Chester earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine ("D.O.") from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine (NJ-SOM) in 1996.  During this training, he obtained honors in the fields of Osteopathic Medicine Clinical Skills, Family Medicine,
Psychiatry, and Performing Arts Medicine.  He continued his pursuit of a strong, general Internal Medicine background serving as a House Officer-Intern for the Department of Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, NY.

In 1997, Dr. Chester became a House Staff Resident Physician in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine
at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.   Here he trained in all aspects of the Physiatry specialty,
including Electrodiagnostic Medicine (EMGs), Occupational Medicine, Spinal Cord and Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Pediatric and Neuromuscular Rehabilitation, as well as myofascial pain treatment including various
manual medicine and injection techniques.  In 1999 and 2000, Dr. Chester served as Chief Resident to the Department
of Rehabilitation Medicine and House Staff Representative to the Mount Sinai Medical Board.

Before relocating to Hawaii in January 2002, Dr. Chester had developed a broad-based private practice in New York City.
At several nursing home and adult home locations, he served as a primary care physician to the long-term care
and subacute rehabilitation medicine patients, as well as heading the Pain Management and Palliative Care Medicine Consultation Service.  Concomitantly, Dr. Chester served as Medical Director for Champion Medical Services, utilizing
a Medical-Chiro-P.T. multi-specialty approach to diagnose and treat all types of nerve, muscle and joint problems.

Currently, Dr. Chester maintains a solo private practice in Wailuku, Maui where he treats patients of all ages
with a wide variety of problems.  Dr. Chester concentrates on disorders of nerves, muscles, and joints.  Much of his
practice consists of pain management, osteopathic manual medicine, injections and Electrodiagnostic Medicine/EMG.
